Field names (headers) shown when in form layout.

It is really a pain doing a form layout with a lot of fields on it. Coming from Alpha I am used to seeing the field name in the field during layout instead of sample data with the filed name(header) shown to the side or on the top. This may not be a big issue when doing small forms but when doing forms with over 450 fields on it, it can be a hugh time saver not having the field header out to the side or top but have it display inside the field.

The editor is meant to show the best possible preview of what the user will see, for that reason we use the example and not the name. But I got yout point of view.

Let me give you a little suggestion. If you have a lot of fields then you have to position them in columns or groups.

Show in the panel only the first group hiding all the others fields at once wih the multiple selection of the children window (once click the panel and then look for the tabs in the IDE with the same icon/name. You will fine the fields list, select them and then use the property window to change them all at once). Position the first one of them properly and then select them all and use the contextual menu commands: arrange vertically and align left (and make equal caption and width). You should be able to arrange the whole group quickly. Then you can do again with the others.

That is what I do now Giuseppe,

It is just slow as heck doing it that way.

I kind of see your point but once you apply a mask to a field, you do not see the sample data anyway so that mutes your point.

Maybe adding a button to the form editor toolbar that would allow the developer to view it either way.

I didn't think on the mask option. Toggling name/value in the preview can also be helpful while editing fields without caption.

Being able to do that would really help when doing forms/pages like this.
