keeping a web app open

I have a web app which opens on a button within an InDe application.
Is it possible to keep the opened app visible on the InDe form?
What I need to do is select a piece of text from the InDe data, and post it into the open app.
What happens is that when focus is made on the InDe data, the previously opend app minimises.

I'm assuming this button opens the second app in a separate browser window.
Only way I can think of would be to have this second app open in an iframe or static field inside the inde app so you can see it in the same browser window.
