How to I specify time to be hh:nn with am or pm designation?

Nothing built-in to inde will do it I'm afraid. I've seen this asked on the Italian side as well.

In theory you could use some well-placed JavaScript to do it, since it is a display issue.

I voted yes on the proposal for change mentioned (PRP000481) (English Translation follows):

as discussed in the forum in it would be useful to have a mask for the time and datetime fields that allows you to see the time in AM / PM format
such as "hh: mm" gives 17:35 it could be that "hh: mm AA" gives "05:35 PM" - that is, if the mask has "AA" the hours go up to 12 and AA becomes AM or PM. Any other implementation is obviously fine.

I recently had need for this in a report. Attached is the procedure I used. Not as nice as having a mask for it, but it did the job.
