Display the Print Icon in a Mobile app

How do I get the icon, which shows a little printer to display properly in the header on my Tablet version of my app?
All I get is a grey blob immediately following the panel information text.
It seems to trigger and display the report properly - so whatever is behind the blob is working, but so far I have only tried it on a Desk Top simulation.

This is the state of the Print Button. It just shows as a Blue Square

Ted, I don't have a definitive answer, other than if you do a view source in the desktop simulation see what it is referencing image-wise. Then you could look at that image file. Might be it needs tweaking or it is simply missing. If the latter then you could put it in your custom folder to ensure it gets copied to the compiled version.

Thanks Jack.
That was the suggestion I needed - looking at the source in Chrome.
I don't often do that except in Expression4 so I forgot about it.
If I get it working I will post back the results.

Sorry to seem a bit "thick" about this, but I have identified that the print icon isn't in the compiled Images folder.
So, do I just make up a folder name, add the icon into it and add the folder as a custom directory, or is it more complex than that?

Edit.
I have inserted the print icon in the root C# folder, C#2 folder (the mobile build) and also the Images folder, within the C#2 folder.
Also tried adding a Custom Directory but that didn't seem to do anything - embedded or not embedded.

Any ideas?

Ted,
  1. Create a custom folder underneath the folder where your .idp file is (Instant Developer Project file)
  2. Reference that folder in the project properties as .\custom
  3. Create an images folder underneath the custom folder
  4. Put your missing printer icon file in the images folder (in this example, I'm calling it print.gif)
  5. in the custom folder, create a filelist.txt file
  6. inside that file, put:
    Code: Select all
    ; images
    images\
    images\print.gif
  7. For more details, start on page 398 of the InDe Users Guide (11.2.2 Adding files to the template)

I will try that Jack, but I had read the manual quite a few times and I wasn't as clear as you have made it.

So instead of just a Custom folder, you have to specify which items in the Custom folder, sub-folder, to include in the compilation by creating a txt file?

As in
Custom folder + txt file referencing
Custom folder/Sub folder
With the gif in it.

I have added images to the C# and Images folders when using web apps without needing to use the Custom folder, so it's probably my mind set which is at fault.

Nope. I get the message shown.
The actual image is present in all the available places as far as I can see - as well as in the images folder which is referenced by the filelist.txt - created using Notebook?
I tried placing the .\custom link in the Web app and also the Mobile app.

Here are the pics which show what I have done;

Just like each application in your project file has its own .\csharp directory (.\csharp, .\csharp1, .\csharp2, etc.) you need to create a .\custom folder that matches (.\custom, .\custom1, .\custom2, etc.)

Though I wonder if that is your problem to start with--it is trying to copy web icons in for a mobile app.

Not sure it's the image which is the problem.
This is the standard print image attached to a Menu item.

OK, lets start a the other end.
How do I find the name of the image which sits behind the Blue Blob in the first post?
I have looked at Developer Console but just get a 404 Not Found. Odd, as the actual Print function works as expected.
