More than 1 application in a project

Postby john w » 22 May 2025, 21:02

A simple question. I have seen that InDe allows for you to have more than one application in a project. In the past I have added mobile applications to a project but never another web application.

In searching the documentation I can find little information about having more than one application in a project. Does anyone do this? I am trying to find the pros and cons of doing it.

Any thoughts or experiences with doing will be appreciated.

I have used it often and it allows you to share Databases, components, and libraries between applications of the same project.
Be careful that applications of the same type (web/mobile) cannot have different themes, because they share the same VisualStyles.
Also be careful that large projects make VCE and TW very slow.

In my opinion it should be used to group applications of the same project, with the same logic, and not applications that are completely independent from each other.

Thanks for the added information. The answer was very helpful to me.

One more question. Is there any difference in how you deploy/publish the application(s)?

You're welcome.

Each application has its own build directory, and ID Manager shows a tab per application.
So I would say no, there is no difference in publishing.
